I CANT QUIT!

BAD (but oh so good) TV!!!

So it is completely and utterly embarrassing that I am OBSESSED, not just a pass the time viewer, but enthralled with female drama packed tv. There was almost a year and a half where I did not watch tv, I did not even have "regular" channels (gasp!), but it's safe to say that I have caught up on all tv that has been missed during those years. I know Im even disgusted with myself, but I cant help it.

First, I love most of the Bravo Real Housewives shows. I have watched every single episode of the Real Housewives of the Orange County, Beverly Hills and New Jersey. I have seen the occasional episode of RHW of Atlanta also, but I think they need a new spin on the "old" south... RHW of Charleston, maybe? hehe.

The Real Housewives of the OC is what started it all... I have followed these changing ladies for 7 seasons!

New Jersey is my favorite RH group of ladies. I think it's because of all the drama!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

As I have mentioned in earlier posts, Im still obsessed with Gossip Girl. I hate to say that I am almost caught up for next season! And yes, that means I have watched 4 seasons in matter of weeks... sigh... did I ever confess I have insomnia?

It's raining, it's pouring...

So Ive been slack on updating, but I've been so busy with work ...
News with work: A few weeks back we had a Mcallan brand ambassador in town so we had to schedule a staff trainings, a scotch luncheon and a dinner. Having a brand ambassador in town is a big deal, you basically want to show off your market and show how great you are doing with their particular product. In short, it's a full on production, but a fun one. Scheduling luncheons and dinners is very time consuming; you are working with the owner and chef to create pairings to go with the scotch. You are making graphics for advertising the event and are inviting people (all while doing your actual job- sales). With the "small" dinner that I had scheduled, we were expecting not many people due to short notice... well it turned out to be completely slammed! Never a bad thing, just unexpected! But the whole event went on without a hitch, thank Jesus!
Then we had the Bombay GQ Challenge, which is a two day bartender competition where the winner gets to compete nation wide in an all expenses paid trip to Vegas. Competitions are very time consuming, we planned the entire event from start to finish: where the competition and after party would be held, what type of food, flowers, decorations, etc. We invite all the competitors and literally chase them down to make sure they submit their drink recipes, we schedule all the times for each competitor etc. There are a bunch of etceteras with planning these challenges, because something unforeseen always comes up- like last night, by the name of HURRICANE ISAAC! Charleston already has a drainage issue, like there being no drainage... so when a down pour comes the city floods, then high tide rolls in and adds more water flooding even worse: case in point with Monday. So the bar we were having the event at last night was completely flooded. Contestants were canceling because they could not get out of their driveways, the streets were completely flooded and roads were being shut down.

What a horrible night to have the GQ Challenge, right?! I have been in an SUV when downtown was flooded and the SUV was carried down the street by all the water, scary, never again will that happen! So Charleston made national news with all the flooding from Hurricane Isaac, and today it looks (besides the soggy ground) as if nothing had occurred! Then in the afternoon another torrential down pour came, hopefully this hurricane leaves soon!

{free} VACATION!

Well to say it has been a very busy past few weeks is an understatement, but very FUN! Have I ever mentioned I have a really great job? So much so that they sent us to an all expense paid weekend vacation to Hilton Head for making our Bacardi "number" last year. Amazing, right?

The Omni Hotel was so pretty.
They sent us to The Omni hotel where we had a cocktail and dinner reception in the court yard that evening. The next day we got to pick an activity and I chose a massage, which was must needed! I spent the rest of the day shopping and got a pedicure, it was the perfect girl day!

I imagine this is what I looked like at the spa! haha.
They even gave us spending money, which made shopping much more fun! That evening we split off into groups and went to dinner at Bombora's followed by another group cocktail reception (three total for the weekend- ah!).

Lots of cocktails were involved this weekend!

Hilton Head has so many trees, it's so pretty!

To top it off last Saturday was the first day of fall, and the weather is perfect. Im so excited for all the upcoming fall activities! I just wish I could have spent more time with work associates but that's another story...

Friday Favorites!

Friday favorites food edition. Charleston has so many amazing restaurants and this week is restaurant week- so the gym is a must! But this post is for Charlestons delicious food trucks! They are so good!

A few weeks back Scott and I took the trek across the bridge to West Ashley for grilled cheese. We don't go to West Ashley too often because Mt. Pleasant has everything we could possibly need, except Corey's Grilled Cheese food truck! Yes we had lunch out of a food truck. I have never really dined out of a food truck until moving to Charleston, because food trucks are everywhere here and they are simply divine! They have trucks from the most delicious and fresh donuts, to name-anything-to-put-in-a-roll trucks (and I had seafood in the roll straight from a truck and it was amazing-although I was nervous eating fish from a truck).

Now on to the grilled cheese... This is not just your normal grilled cheese- it is Corey's Grilled Cheese. Words cannot describe the deliciousness, and yes we are talking about a simple GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH! INSANE I KNOW! I could eat this sandwich every single day. After we savored every bite, we figured out the recipe and decided to make it the next night, so we immediately went to the grocery store.

This is what you need:

1. cinnamon swirl bread (do not substitute this- yes it sounds weird but trust me, do it)

2. honey mustard

3. bacon

4. tomato (none for me thanks, but if you prefer...)

5. munster or gouda cheese

Try this recipe, you will thank me- it's quick, simple and divine. Your welcome!

Behind on the trend

Welp, it's happened again... so I fell in love with Sex and the City after the series was over; I guess I was too young to watch women without sexual morals while in middle and high school haha. So sometime in college I discovered Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte explore New York, friendship and relationships. I got obsessed with the show... I watched every re-run and started buying every season. I.could.not.get.enough.period. I loved watching the fashion and what fictional NY life was like.

I was pissed that I missed the time of Sex and the City during it's prime, and now it looks like it has happened again... with Gossip Girl!! AGH! THE TRAGEDY of missing ANOTHER great show AFTER the series FINALE is DONE!!! *hitting head on wall* Ok, so maybe I'm a bit over dramatic, but it really stinks!

During all the rain last weekend, I caught about 8 Gossip Girl episodes in a row (don't judge me- the house was clean, it was pouring out and I had a long work week). Gossip Girl seems like Sex and the City but with more drama and younger characters. Like Sex and the City, the fashion is just as amazing. I guess the good thing about missing seasons at a time is you don't have to wait until the next week to catch the next episode! So now I need to netflix Gossip Girl seasons if we have any more rainy days.

Polish {addict}

It is safe to say that I have a slight obsession with nail polish (and apparently a slight obsession with the word "obsession" since I use it in every post- yes, I have noticed too).

I was doing some errr, fall cleaning, and decided to go through my polish and the picture below is WHAT I KEPT. Meaning I threw out lots of bottles, 29 to be exact. YES 29 polishes, thrown out, and THAT'S how many I still have!! Ridiculous! How many shades of pale pink can one person have?!

What is really ridiculous is I have been going to the salon every few weeks with my girlfriends and getting my nails painted with gel polish despite having all of that polish at home! waste.of.money. WHY do I do that?! I have vowed I will only buy one color per season now, and I will skip a manicure each time I do. You would think I could be a mature adult and just say "what the heck am I doing spending $8 a bottle on polish while getting $35 manicures?" but apparently I am not a "mature adult," whatever THAT is...

These are a few colors I love for fall, now I only get to decide on one, sigh....

Essie fall colors clock wise: Demure Vixen, Chinchilly, Miss Fancy Pants and Bobbing for Baubles.

Friday Favorites.

1. So if you've been anywhere in public within the last few months you'll see this growing trend: LEOPARD PRINT. It's everywhere, from every accessory, every article of clothing possible and countless shoes. I have always hated all things animal print, that is until now. I always associated animal print with girls who wear large hoop earrings and loads of make up, impossible-to-walk-in- stilettos, and gum smackin'... in short I thought it looked cheap and tacky. But not this fall, this fall the designers have made leopard look luxurious, cozy and super trendy. I have slowly started incorporating leopard into my wardrobe, starting with little things like the inside of my Steve Madden shoes (tiny baby steps I know), then my Kate Spade phone cover. Then I tried out a muted gray hue leopard chiffon shirt (and loved it), and finally some lucky leopard ballet flats (perfect for fall). Of course I only don one leopard printed piece at a time but it's the perfect neutral to a bright pop of color for fall.

Love the leopard combined with bright accessories! Too cute

and perfect for fall.

My new Kate Spade iPhone cover. The sides are hot pink. So cute!

2. Sparkle shoes! Yes they're a bit (or a lot) gaudy but it's like a party on your feet! It's best paired with jeans and a black top with minimal accessories. I mean they are pretty loud, but just too dang cute with a touch of glam!

3. I love indie rock and Matt and Kim are my "new" favorite. They've been around for years, and my favorite song is "daylight." It's such a happy song, check it out!

4. Fun art! How neat is this?! Those are people placed in certain colors to make the images. I love fun and different art like this!

Far better things ahead.

I love this quote. It helps me to remember that change is good. Sometimes I have a difficult time accepting change. I'm not afraid of change I just get anxious of the "what ifs" that robs me from being 100% happy and in the moment. Let me explain, like buying a house for example... it has been more challenging then we had initially imagined, but then the "what ifs" creep in; what if I get laid off, what if we cant find the perfect house, what if we buy it and it has a ton of problems that need to be fixed- totally money pit style?! WHAT IF?! Yes these are the questions that loom in my head in the wee morning hours when I cannot sleep. Ridiculous and crazy I know. In my heart I know everything will be just fine, because they always are just fine and always works out in its own time. I'm trying to take the steps to welcome change with open arms and know that everything will be perfect in the end. The good thing is "There are far far better things ahead than any we leave behind" and that makes the future very exciting!

obsessed.

I have been spending countless hours on Pintrest browsing all of the decor ideas that I am in love with! They have such great tips on decorating on a budget and home remodels.

Guest Bedroom Inspiration

I love these color combinations and I think it will be the inspiration to the future guest room. It's just cozy comfortable and inviting with a touch of girlie. I have not informed Scott yet, but the guest room will also have a make up table so I beautify in there and not take up 85% of the "his and hers" in the master. I have so much make up and hair products that it just makes sense to have my own separate area.

Master Bedroom Inspiration

Look at the ceiling in this room! I want this look for the master room, bright blue ceiling but a deeper darker tan color on the wall. The tan in this room is almost "wimpy," when going with a color you really have to commit to it! This room looks beachy, unisex and calming- it is exactly what I'm going for.

Bathroom Inspiration

This soft green for a bathroom with white accents is just organic and natural. There are two and a half bathrooms so this color I'm sure will be in one of them.

Craft Room Inspiration

Now the craft room... This will be the inspiration, but with brighter colors (probably aqua blue)and with one wall gray and white striped (rather than wall paper). The lay out of the room is great for a craft room. I LOVE the chandelier, it is classy and adorable, I'm on the hunt for it already. The craft room and the kitchen I'm most excited for...

Kitchen Inspiration

The kitchen is outdated to say the least. I found this before and after image which is the exact layout and look of the kitchen in our house. The kitchen needs new appliances, counters, fixtures and cabinets... basically everything to make a kitchen. This is where we will spend 80% of our budget. I really like the "after image" but I want to use a glass shiny back splash in a light or tan color.

Back Splash Inspiration

I LOVE all of these glass back splashes! I cannot wait to actually start decorating! I'm getting so excited to start gathering furniture and start all the DIY projects that I have in mind! Yay! Only 10 months to wait.... wonk wonk...
