WEDDING {wednesday}

So we are less than four months out. (three months and one week) oh.my.god
It's getting SO close!

Since our last list update, we have found the venue for the rehearsal dinner, found an officiant and ceremony music!

The rehearsal dinner is at Dunes West! I was hoping for Dunes West all along and just knew it was either out of the budget or already booked... apparently it was saved just for us! It is an account I call on for work, so they hooked us up and waved the rental fee!!!

Love the oak trees that line the road, stunning.

It's on the marsh and simply gorgeous. SO excited we will have our rehearsal here.

The ceremony music we decided on will be a guitar and a mandolin... very different than "normal" ceremony music, that I am aware, but Scott loved it. So I let him have a win on this one ha. They will also be playing at the rehearsal dinner and during cocktail hour.

Love the lace on these invites.

The thin ribbon with the married initials is adorable.

I have chosen the invitations, I am going to make them! Finally putting that design degree to use, ha! I like the above invitations, and will probably do a hybrid of the two in my wedding colors.
TO DO:
-venue and plan the rehearsal dinner.
-decor (table)
-something special for MOH gift
-Choose linens
-Ceremony music
-Find an officiant.
-Invitations
-Decide on a florist.

I have chosen the MOH "special gift" to add to her bag, I just need to order it!
I have emailed another florist yesterday, hopefully they will be less than $3200, eek.
I need to meet to go over and choose linens...
I have the decor chosen for the tables, and just need to buy them.
I have the programs chosen and just need to make them.

With less than four months to go, I need to get on the "buying" and "making" and hurry up and do it! Eek!

Vacation {five and six}

We spent the first day out at sea on the cruise. Then the first stop on our cruise was to Grand Turk. Grand Turk has the clearest most gorgeous water and beaches. We decided we were just going to lay around at Margaritaville in Grand Turks and relax! And relax is
 exactly what we did.

GRAND TURK!

Scott and I at Margaritaville!

Colorful beach chairs.

Our view from above.
Gorgeous weather and beautiful beaches, I could live here!

Obviously proof that this place is heaven.

Flapper Girl

For as long as I can remember I have always had a deep love for all things 1920's.

The music.
The dancing.
The parties.
The style.
The men being gentlemen.
The women being ladies.
The CLOTHING.

In short I was completely born in the wrong era.

So I was THRILLED to see that The Great Gatsby was coming to theater because I knew the 1920's style would be making its appearance. Not to mention, The Great Gatsby has always been a favorite since child hood.

Would it not be fabulous to dress up like this for a big party? LOVE IT.

I have always thought that Jenny Packham's dress designs were very reminescent of the 1920's, hence why I love all of her designs.

Jenny Packham's dresses are simply beautiful.

The make up, light eye with a dramatic red lip.
So glam.

The hats, oh the hats! I love the hair styles and hats then. The style was so dainty, feminine and glam... I would dress like this every day if I wouldn't get crazy stares!

I recently bought a hat like this that I wear during the winter and rain. Love it.
The Perfect ensemble. Why don't we dress like this anymore?

I found this dress online, it seems most designers are getting bit by the "20's bug"
Love the hair styles and accessories
This is my little nod to the 1920's that I wore to see The Great Gatsby! Which I LOVED and will be purchasing! I also thought it was so neat that they took today's music and gave it a big band 1920's twist, so I will be buying that too!

I love how everything is so glam with the clothing and jewelry and big bands. I believe in a past life I was the perfect flapper girl, because I still am at heart!

Friday {favorites}

Target can do no wrong this Spring! I am in love with all of their bathing suits, shoes and clothes! Since we have less than a month to go on the cruise I have ordered a few for myself! For some reason I have already ordered three bathing suits... Summer is obviously calling my name! Below are a few Friday Favorites, and items that will be making it into my closet and my suit case for our upcoming travels.

This is actually light pink sequins, and so adorable! I paired it with a pink bathing suit bottom. Blingy pink top, this was obviously made with me in mind, duh.

The bathing suit top is eyelet cut outs, which shows coral between it. I paired it with coral bottoms. Love it!

These black wedges are so cute, I need to add them to my closet.
These wedge heels are adorable and would match with any outfit.

I have been wanting a cute maxi skirt and found this one. I have to hem about umm 4 foot off, but other than that its perfect... problems of a short girl.

Wedding {wednesday}.

So one major thing I have not accomplished is finding a florist. With only four months away, I should probably get on it! I had emailed one company and got a quote for $3200!!!  Wonk Wonk... They can kick rocks before I pay that much for flowers! ugh.

Here are the images I love and want for our wedding:
Bridal Bouquet. GORGEOUS! I love these flowers and the bling, got to have bling!

I love this style for the bridesmaids. The large Dahlia is so pretty.

I want a few of these large "WOW" center pieces on the tables, sans the crystal droplets.

I think these are perfect for the mothers in replace of a traditional corsage, plus it doesn't put a hole in
your nice dress from pins!

I like the square flower pieces for the other tables that do not have the 'WOW" arrangements ha.
Now the hard part is finding a florist who can create these, and not for $3200! Wish me luck!

Vacation {day four}

On the fourth day of vacation we boarded the Carnival Breeze with my parents, Scott's Father Kraig, Step mother Susan, sister Stacey, brother in law Greg, their one year Hayden, his brother Ryan and sister in law Nichole. Our families meshed well and we all had SOOO much fun together! The boat had two slides, a rope course, putt putt, two pools, numerous Jacuzzi's,  endless dining options, a casino and spa... and much more I am forgetting about!

Carnivals new boat Carnival Breeze.

Our state room with a balcony. The balcony is key, we saw dolphins racing our boat, so neat!

So pretty! Miami and Star Island.

The first thing Scott and I did when we boarded the ship was put on our bathing suits and go in the adults only area with cabanas! We need a cabana at home!

The water is so pretty!

Greg, my future brother in law, played The Hasbro game! Scott and I won trivia for the third time in a row too!

Mom, dad, and Scott watching dolphins off our balcony!

My future father in law being silly with the Captains hat on.

My future sister in laws.
On Wednesdays we wear pink. (mean girls reference hehe)

My family on formal night! <3

Weekend Update {with rebecca}.

Very reminiscent of SNL. Hehe.

Anyway, my parents came down this weekend to help me update my master bedroom. Before it was brown, literally the EXACT same shade as card board... gross. I had a piece of cardboard against the wall and it matched perfectly, what an odd shade to choose.

Buh Bye card board brown. yuck. That's my sweet mama helping me paint.
LOVE the bright blue color.

The color I chose is Sherwin Williams "Rain Drop," which is such a vibrant blue. I love it. All of our furniture is white so the blue really brightens the room up. I still need to buy a few more decorations; some "pops" of yellow as an accent, window treatments and I am on the search for the perfect mercury glass lamp shade.
My make up table area, which I believe I am going to up-cycle it and turn it maybe a silver color... stay tuned.
My FAVORITE part of our new room is the head board my parents and I made from old shutters I bought off of a historical house in Summerville.

The shutter head board is my very favorite project I have ever done. The shutters have been painted a dozen colors so I pressure washed them and used the white side and added a bit more white paint then used brown shoe polish to "age" the new white paint to make it match the older character of the shutters.
