WE'RE BACKKKK!

So we are back from vacation and I cannot wait to go back!
Epcot (Fort Lauderdale), Miami, Grand Turk, Ocho Rio in Jamaica and Nassau... We were gone for 13 days but it went by so fast! If I had my sweet Bayla pup with us, I might not have came back! ha.
We had so much fun! It was great hanging out with both our families while relaxing and getting some sun.
GORGEOUS! I could live on this beach in Grand Turks!

The water was GORGEOUS in Grand Turks! It could not be more clear!
More vacation pics to come!

It's SPRING!

It seems this winter has lasted longer than usual. While Charleston usually doesn't have a "winter" like most, I have have craved sunshine and outdoor activity.  Our "winter" does not get THAT cold, we do not get snow, it basically means it's just too chilly and damp to lay out and go to the beach. But at last it is Spring! Flowers are blooming, the grass is having to be cut bi-weekly and I am getting in gear for Spring decorating. I have been flipping through ideas on how to landscape our yard, because right now it is pitiful.
I decided the first thing I would decorate is our door with a new Spring wreath.

I went to Michaels and bought a foam wreath and two spools of ribbon. I think I stared at the ribbon a good thirty minutes because they had all types to choose from. I chose an inch width ribbon without wire.

Things you will need:
  • Two spools of ribbon.
  • Foam wreath.
  • Tiny silver needles.
  • A glue gun with glue sticks.
  • Other random ribbon colors.
First get the foam wreath and just get the ribbon and begin wrapping it around the wreath, securing it with one pin to get it started. Wrap all the way around the wreath until it is completly covered in ribbon and secure the end on the back of the wreath with another pin.

Next I grabbed random ribbons that I had stored away and began twisting them into flowers, securing them hot glue and pins.

Then I glued and pinned them to the foam wreath.

Grab a ribbon and tie a loop and hang it on the door. Viola!

VACATION {time}

So I am so excited to say as I type this, we are in the car on vacation. Finally it is here! We just crossed into Florida and headed to Orlando. If you know anything about me, Orlando brings out the child in me. I LOVE all the theme parks and excited to go and explore one of my favorite places again.
We are going to stay in Orlando for two days, then Miami for two days, then board the ship and going to Jamaica  the Bahama, Turks and Caicos. Once we get off the boat we will then go back to Orlando and stay another night and  hopefully go to my favorite shopping outlet in life... they have Tory Burch (which I am most excited about), Kate Spade, Victoria Secret, Express, Ferragamo... I mean really you name it, this place has it. Love!
I am so excited for the adventure ahead.

Bayla Pouting before I left. *sniff sniff*

However, I am leaving behind this sweet face. She was so pitiful when I was leaving, she just knew I was going somewhere and she was not coming with me... so she pouted. Her pouting breaks my heart! I will be gone for 11 days, and it is the longest I have been away from her. Spoiled much?

Engagement {photos}

So we got our engagement photos back and I love them! Being super particular I ended up photo shopping some of them myself (finally using my graphic design degree).. our photographer did a great job, but you know how sometimes you want to add your own personal touch? Welp, that's what I did. They turned out great and we are so happy with them. Below are a few of my favorites!

Simply DIVINE.

My favorite simple little treat.

Strawberries.
Marsh mellows.
Nutella.

I mean really is there a better combination on earth? Think about it, I will wait...
Nope, I didn't think so either! Then again you can smear Nutella on most things and it would be edible and delicious!

Wedding {wednesday}

Meet the 'maids!
Meet the lovely ladies that will make up my bridal party!

Kristi - Maid of Honor- When I moved to Greenville I only knew two people, and had to use a GPS just to get back to my apartment. Through a mutual friend, I met Kristi Wright, who had just moved from New York and was in the exact same situation.  We became instant friends, connected at the hip, exploring our new town. We bonded over sushi, midnight dancing and shopping. When I  moved to Charleston, we vowed to visit each other as often as possible and have stuck to that promise. I am still trying to persuade Kristi to move to Charleston.

Stacie- Matron of Honor- I first met Stacie when I was four years old in pre-school. We instantly became friends on the play ground. Our families became fast friends also since we each had brothers relatively the same age; in which the boys would go to one house while the we girls went to the other on weekends. Our parents became friends and over twenty years later, they still meet for dinners and weekend visits. Stacie is married to her high school sweet heart Chad Bryant, and they have a darling almost one year old little girl, Addison.

AmandaAmanda and I are first cousins on my mothers side. I share many traditions with Amanda- stealing all the left over mac and cheese on Christmas at our grandmothers house, shopping on black friday, playing LIver Pool (card game) at every holiday function and memories of spending summers together in the pool or at the beach. Amanda lives in Durham as an architect and visits as much as possible, when not being her alter ego, Erna Beatin' in roller derby.

AshleyAshley and I are first cousins on my fathers side. We grew up playing on the swings in our grandfathers back yard and playing hide and go seek with my brother Jerry and Ashleys siblings, Tripp and Brittany.  Summers were always spent in the pool and literally playing in the mud in the play house. We have always shared a close bond and it has only grown stronger in 2012 when she moved to Charleston to teach. We have a Tuesday night ritual of exploring new restaurants and trying new cocktails. Years later not much has changed, the summers are still be spent outside by water and playing in the sand.
StaceyStacey is Scott's younger sister who lives right outside of Charlotte. Stacey has found her calling as a real estate agent and has given us valuable advice while we were purchasing our first house. When Stacey met me for the first time she said that she instantly knew I was "the one" for Scott and called her mother and told her so. I love Stacey's contagious happiness and is so excited to gain a sister. Stacey is married to Greg Sauls and they have an adorable one year old baby boy, Hayden.

SarahWe met while in college working at Gibsons, a boutique, in Columbia. We instantly bonded over cocktails in five points, Project Runway, girlie books and cooking dinner for each other. We share a crafty spirit and love spending time together at the Mad Platter, painting pottery on Diva Night. With me moving all over South Carolina and Sarah moving to Charlotte and back, we have remained close friends. Sarah is married to Andy Sipes and they live in Columbia together.
AllisonAllison moved into one of the four rooms where I already lived in college. We did not know each other initially, but quickly became friends. It was a lot of girls under one roof, and we spent evenings watching Laguna Beach and playing pranks on friends. We remained friends after college when we lived only thirty minutes apart in Greenville. Once I moved to Charleston, Allison decided to make the move back to her original home town in Goose Creek, so we were once again thirty minutes apart. Charleston weekends are always spent together on the beach all day, often followed with a pedicure and a girlie movie. Allison is always a friend that I can call to have a laid back and relaxing evening; whether it's packing boxes to move for the millionth time or watching a nerds only Twilight/Harry Potter marathon, we always have fun together.
Kelly - I met Kelly when I lived in Greenville working with Diageo, while Kelly was working with them in Columbia. We both got transferred to Charleston, where we became close friends. We spend every weekend on the beach all day or getting pedicures with Allison. Kelly shares my flair for all things girlie and being able to watch endless re-runs of Sex and The City. Kelly also understands and accepts my  taste of what has been coined as "gypsy Jersey gaudy," meaning a bit of sparkle in all touches of decor.

Honorary Bridesmaids
AlexandraWe first met in college and bonded over a ceramics class and a horrible Women's Studies teacher. We shared weekends in Columbia tailgating and having cocktails in The Vista. We have the same outspoken, yet silly personalities and were clearly destined to be friends. Alexandra lives in Savannah with her boyfriend Brannen.
WallaceWe often joke about how we met, because it seems like we have know each other our entire life.  We met in Columbia through mutual friends and began spending their weekends together, socializing downtown. We bonded over bad break ups and new romances leading to find my and Wallace's significant others. Wallace lives with her husband Steven in Louisiana and I am hoping her next move will be back to the Carolina's.

Fashion Week {part two}

More fashion week images!
The emerging designers are always so inspiring. It is my favorite part of fashion week. Each night one designer is chosen to move forward to Saturday night to be chosen as "top fashion week designer" from the entire week.

These were the emerging designers from Tuesday nights fashion show.
Each designer is SO talented.

The winning group of designs. I wish men could dress like this daily, so handsome!

Some local designer boutiques.

This is a set of an emerging designers line.

I simply love these dresses from an emerging designer. I wish I could wear these outfits... ever.day. I mean really, if tutu's were acceptable on grown women, I would wear one daily! I love dressing up girlie. I think I was born in the wrong era for sure, I picture myself more
in the flapper era ha!

The colors are so vibrant!
